Marvel mastermind Stan Lee has joined the ranks of powerful men accused of sexual misconduct. Lee is the co-creator of a litany of the Marvel Universes superheroes, most famously Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Incredible Hulk, to name a few. Today it was reported that the 95-year-old comic book author and editor is being accused of misconduct by several of the female nurses that he previously employed to take care of him in his Los Angeles home.
“A string of young female nurses” claim that Lee occasionally groped and harassed them and would demand to be “pleasured” during their shift, according to the Daily Mail. Lee has denied these claims. The nursing company that employed the women is now embarking on an unspecified legal despite with Lee. At this current time, however, there is no lawsuit and no criminal complaint filed against him. A cease-and-desist letter was sent to the company last month.
A rep from the nursing company confirmed to the publication that there were several complaints from nurses who had worked at Lee’s home. The company terminated their working relations with Lee in 2016.
One of Lee’s attorney has come forward to say that Lee vehemently denies the “false and despicable allegations.” The lawyer has suggested that his client is being targeted in a plot of extortion. “Mr. Lee will not be extorted or blackmailed, and will pay no money to anyone because he has done absolutely nothing wrong.”
